Widgets

Widgets (or Gadgets) have become pretty popular lately. First there was Stardocks DesktopX. Then came Yahoo Widgets (formerly Konfabulator). There was also Kapsules and dotWidget. And lately there is Google Desktop Gadgets and Microsoft Gadgets.

All of these used some form of scripting language to allow the user to create widgets easily. Well that was the dream but unfortunately you still needed to understand programming to create one. The end result was that there were many calendars, weather, rss readers that differ only in their look. No one was creating anything innovative.

So instead of relying on their installation I decided to create standalone widgets using normal tools. Here are my widgets:

RadWeather - current weather display
RadCalendar - calendar display with Outlook integration
RadBattery - battery power display
RadClock - simple clock
